In the first half of Slayers, Rezo the Red Priest is one of the Five Wise Men of the Age. He was a healer who wondered the land, healing those who were in need of it. But he studied white, black, and shamanistic magic only so he could attempt to cure his blindness. But he was blind because he was carrying one of the pieces of Ruby Eye in his eyes, which had possessed him and caused him to become evil.
